Elayne is a classically trained professional artist who lives in Portland, Oregon with her husband and dog. She emphasizes traditional drawing and under paint to achieve and create original paintings using oil on fine linen. Alla prima (wet on wet) technique is used with heavier paint and broad brush work. The love and joy she finds in people living in diverse circumstances are the inspiration for her portraiture and landscapes. Elayne attempts to reflect the light she sees in others so that we can see ourselves and find healing. An attempt to capture perfection can only be achieved with Divine light.
As an artist, it is her hope to approach her canvas in such a way to reflect light and life in the truest sense
Elayne completed her classical training at Sumpter Academy of Art Atelier where she regularly continues to study since 2017.
